In September, 2022, filmmakers Paul Glenshaw and Darroch Greer made their first pre-production trip to Paris, France, for the upcoming Humanus documentary, Democracy in Rhythm. The creative team went to find out who was playing jazz in Paris today, and to discover the latest jazz. The trip was far more fruitful than initially planned, and a pre-production trip became a full-blown production trip. For the next month, the team filmed several performances and conducted interviews with some of the talented musicians they encountered. The footage, sound, and stills collected by the creative team on this trip form the basis of the project. Democracy in Rhythm continues development and production in 2024.
